Scores killed as armed bandits raid Zamfara communities

Gunmen on Wednesday abducted four women including the wife of Suleiman Abubakar , Chairman of Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists and the wife of a former state assembly member in Nasarawa state.

Suleiman told journalists that the incident happened around 7:00 p.m. along Gudi-Garaku road in Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.

According to Suleiman, the bus conveying them from Keffi, where his wife had gone to register at the National Youth Service Corps orientation camp, ran into a ditch after it was shot at by the gunmen.

He added that two other women from another vehicle were also abducted during the attack.

However, ASP Samaila Usman, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, said the command had assigned officers to the area to search and rescue the abducted women.
