The Super Eagles of Nigeria will this weekend be wearing a new Nike jersey when they clash against the Fennecs of Algeria in a world cup qualifier in Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, Akwa-Ibom state.

According to nff.com, the Jersey is a replica of what was used at the Rio Olympics by the dream team, but because the Olympics football event is not recognized by FIFA, the kit did not carry the logo of the Nigeria Football Federation.

It can be recalled that the NFF had in April 2015 signed a $3.75 million three-and-half -year contract with Nike, which would see Nike kit Nigeria football national teams till 2018 or beyond. Thus, this new kit is part of Nike’s responsibilities in accordance with the deal.

Nike’s Dri-FIT technology allows players to perform at their best by drawing away sweat from the body to the exterior of the shirts and shorts, where it quickly evaporates and makes players remain comfortable.
