You’ll be dealt with if found culpable in rising ethnic violence, Gov Al-Makura warns traditional rulers

The governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura, has issued a stern warning to traditional rulers in the state over the rise in killings in the state.

The governor was speaking in respect to the killings in Panda development area and part of Iggah community in Nasarawa-Eggon Local Government Area of the State. 

He made this known on Friday during the coronation and presentation of staff of office to the 17th Emir of lafia, Justice Sidi Bage.

The governor warned that any traditional ruler who attempted to sabotage the effort of the state government in making the state peaceful would be dealt with. 

He said, “The recent unfortunate spike in ethnic conflict in some areas of the state will be investigated and any traditional ruler found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with our extant laws.”
