Young filmmaker makes Nigeria proud at New York Film Festival

Once again, the international community is celebrating the efforts of Nigerian filmmaker, Adekunle “Nodash” Adejuyigbe who leads a new generation of daring moviemakers.

This time, the recently released movie of the cinematographer titled ‘Delivery Boy’ was selected to screen at the respectable New York African Film Festival which took place at Lincoln Center, in New York, USA.

The film by Nodahs who only a few years ago was selected as one of the emerging cinematographers in the world by the prestigious Berlin Festival, was screened to a diverse audience of film enthusiasts, international film curators, film scholars and mediamen from all over the world at the Lincoln Centre in New York.

Reports say that despite the fact that the New York Film festival is typically attended by a hard-to-please mix of film connoisseurs, journalists and Hollywood producers, the movie got appreciable reviews.

Sources say a number of people who came to the screening admitted that they came with low expectations but they left with a new- found respect for Nigerian films, based on the cinematographic exploits on Nodash.

Reacting to the positive responses he got from his latest movie, Nodash in a interview with RIPPLES NIGERIA said; “International audiences have responded extremely enthusiastically to the film, and we are looking forward to seeing how local movie fans react.”

The release of the self-funded movie ‘Delivery Boy’ comes after Nodash took it upon himself to set up Nigeria’s most internationally compliant film team T.E.F.T (The Elite Film Team) in a bid to further contributed his quota towards the positive international perception and positioning of the Nigerian film industry.
