You're just seeking attention, Buhari will not resign, APC youths tell Charlyboy

The scheduled protest by controversial entertainer, Charles Oputa, better known as Charlyboy expected to take place in Abuja Monday demanding that President Muhammadu Buhari return immediately or tender his resignation has been condemned by the All Progressives Congress Youth Vanguard.

In a lengthy statement signed by the leader of the group, Collins Edwin, the planned protest which is expected to have other known personalities like Nollywood star, Jim Iyke, in attendance was put down by the group which also noted that Charlyboy is an incurable attention-seeker.

The statement urged Charlyboy to stop making ‘senseless noise’ because governance is not entertainment and it also reveled that a comprehensive list of politicians within and outside the APC who are sponsoring the protest and negative publicity against Buhari will be made public to Nigerians.

‘The planned protest against President Muhammadu Buhari by a coalition of civil society groups led by Charly Boy has come to the notice of the national leadership of APC Youths Renaissance.

“Ordinarily, we would have dismissed the move knowing that Charly Boy is an incurable attention-seeker, but because he cleverly laced his mercantile show-business in President Buhari’s health challenge, we have decided to educate the political dissident that governance is not entertainment.

“President Buhari has just spent few days receiving medical attention and Charly Boy and his dubious sponsors are making senseless noise about it, what about a former American President who ruled America in the midst of greater health challenge yet Americans never gave a hoot about it.

“In 1919, President Woodrow Wilson suffered a severe stroke that left him incapacitated until the end of his presidency, yet Americans did not call for his resignation or impeachment, but here in Nigeria, we have a President who is only on a medical check-up and some group of attention-seekers are making it to look as if it is anathema.

“For Charly Boy and his sponsors to organise such protest against our darling President, we have resolved and are going to stage a counter protest that will show the world that President Muhammadu Buhari is truly loved by Nigerians despite the media gang up against him.

“We have also collected the comprehensive list of politicians within and outside the APC who are sponsoring the protest and negative publicity against Buhari and will make it public for Nigerians to see who and who is actually preventing good governance from happening in the country.”

The protest by Charlyboy which will be coordinated under the umbrella of a coalition of civil society groups, would according to reports hold both in Abuja and around the Abuja House in London simultaneously.

According to a statement released by the coalition of civil society groups on Saturday, the protest would not be a one-off, as it will continue in the form of a sit-in at the Unity Fountain Abuja, until the president returns or resigns.

I used to think APC youths are intelligent, but clearly, they are not! Referencing a president who served the US in 1919 is misappropriation of fact. This is 21st century, year 2017 to be precise, 90% of the things that worked out in 1900-1990 don’t work out anymore in this generation. No president will dare Americans and leave his country on medical leave for more than 30 days, I’m sure before he returns, they would have impeached him. Nigerians have really tried, Buhari have spent over 92 days in foreign land and his presidential seat is still in Aso Villa, APC should appreciate Nigerians

Who are these youths? Are they not as corrupt as their leaders in APC, why won’t they support Buhari’s stay abroad for medical treatment? If one of them falls sick, that is when the person will know Nigeria is not a country you support when things are evidently wrong. Can APC fly the Youth’s leader out of the country if he falls sick? NEVER! These kids should use their brain and support Charly Boy who’s fighting for the betterment of this country

Charly Boy is an attention seeker but, he’s always making sense, this man needs to be appreciated for always speaking out for Nigerian youths. Buhari’s stay in London is already out of hands, he should just resign abeg
