Yusuf approves N71K minimum wage for Kano workers
The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has approved a new minimum wage of N71,000 for state civil servants in the state.
The new minimum wage will take effect from November.
It is expected to increase the state’s monthly salary obligations by N6 billion and N7 billion for local councils.
The governor, who announced the wage adjustment on one of his verified social media accounts on Tuesday, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare in the state.

He said: “In line with our commitment to social justice and enhancing the standard of living for our workers, we have approved N71,000 as the new minimum wage in Kano State.”
Yusuf said following the promotion of 20,737 teachers over N340 million has been added to teachers’ salaries.
He commended the state minimum wage implementation committee for its excellent work.
