ZAMFARA: Ex-bandits are helping to fight banditry, Matawalle says

The Zamfara state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed the former Emir of Bakura, Hassan Marafa as its Deputy Chairman.

The new deputy chairman emerged on Monday during the party’s state congress held in Gusau and supervised by a

former Niger governor, Babangida Aliyu.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Mallaha was also re-elected for second term as chairman during the congress.

Hamisu Modomawa emerged as the state secretary of the party, while the party’s former Women Leader, Hajiya Ai Maradun was elected Vice-Chairman, Zamfara West.

Other leaders that emerged during the congress include Sani Sada, Vice-Chairman North, Alhaji Isa Maigemu Vice-Chairman Central and Sule Anka as Auditor.

In his speech at the end of the congress, Aliyu expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the delegates and charged members of the party to support the state executives in the discharge of their duties.

Aliyu urged them to resolve contentious issues amicably whenever they arise.
