Gov Matawalle threatens to arrest ex-Gov Yari if killings continue in Zamfara

An alleged breach of security by the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Ibrahim Danmaliki Gidangoga, has led to his arrest by men of the Zamfara State Police Command.

The police said Gidangoga was arrested on Tuesday for open statements bordering on state security issues and also to help the security agencies investigate the security challenges in the state.

Reports say the arrest warrant was issued by Zamfara state court of justice in Gusau so Gidangoga could lead the security operatives to the bushes where he claimed that there were over three million arms and ammunition in the bushes.

The APC chieftain was arrested after his evening prayers at Sheik Kanoma’s mosque when the police stormed the worship centre and surrounded the premises with heavily armed men.

A police report also revealed that Gidangoga was expected to appear before a court in Samaru in Gusau metropolis.
