Zimbabwe sacks, charges Tourism Minister over disappearance of $94m pension fund

Zimbawe’s Minister of Tourism, Prisca Mupfumira has been sacked and also charged to court over the disappearance of $94 million pension fund from the state’s National Social Security Authority.

The embattled Minister was fired by President Emmerson Mnangagwa who said she was booted out “for conduct inappropriate for a minister of government”.

Moments after her arrest over the disappearance of millions of dollars from the country’s pension fund, the country’s anti-corruption commission said that the money went missing during her time as minister of labour and social welfare.

Prisca who is the first serving minister of current administration to be arrested has however denied the allegations leveled against her person.
