After searching his home, the FBI agents reportedly sat in as local police interviewed the boy, who could face extradition to and face imprisonment, in the United States.

Scottish police also confirmed the arrest and also informed that he was released later.

“Following a search of a property in the Glasgow area on Tuesday, February 16, a 15-year old male was arrested in connection with alleged offences under the Computer Misuse Act 1990”. A Scotland police spokesman said.

Continuing, he said; “He has since been released and is the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal. It would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
