2 crushed to death, others injured as train collides with bus

Two victims have been confirmed dead and several others injured when a train collided with a stationery commercial bus which was parked close to the railway line in the Agege area of Lagos State.

Reports say the victims who were crushed to death were commuters hanging on the moving train which unexpectedly hit the commercial bus.

Eyewitnesses say the driver of the commercial bus had gone to answer the call of nature after parking the bus close to the railway line moments after dropping passengers when the oncoming train rammed into the parked vehicle.

A resident of the area who witnessed the incident said; “The incident happened around 8am. A woman who was hawking food here warned the driver not to park the bus close to the railway line, but he said he would not stay long in the toilet. By the time he came back, it was late.
