Over 30 killed, dozens wounded in Adamawa market twin blasts

At least 30 people have been confirmed killed in twin explosions that hit Madagali Market in Adamawa State on Friday.

The explosion said to have been carried out by two female suicide bombers in the busy market. Reports indicate there could be more casualties.

Madagali, where the sorry incident took place is located some 276km from the Adamawa State capital, Yola and said to be close to Borno State.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Coordinator in charge of Adamawa and Taraba, Mr Sa’ad Bello, confirmed the attack, but said the number of casualty was yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, former Senate President Atiku Abubakar, a native of the state, has decried the attack and commiserated with victims and their families. He called on the people of the state and North East to be vigilant and not frightened by the terrorists.

“Our people will not be bowed by terrorists. We must keep up our vigilance and increase intelligence even in liberated communities,” Atiku said.
