5 top tips for ladies who want to be stylish

People aren’t born looking stylish, it’s something they learn, and that means that anyone can use fashion to make themselves look elegant and stylish.

You don’t even need to spend a fortune on designer clothes and shoes to do it, all you really need is a will to look great, a bit of time to make the most of the clothes that you have, and a few style tips.

Here’s a guide on how to look more stylish, without breaking the bank.

1. Think About Your Accessories: Sometimes, all you need to do to transform an outfit from the ordinary to something really special is to add some bright and colourful accessories. If most of your wardrobe consists of clothes that are neutral in colour, invest in some more colourful shoes and bags. Adding splashes of colour with some accessories is an easy way to add a bit of style.

2. Go With What Suits You, Not What Fashion Dictates: We all have different body shapes and some styles will flatter your particular body shape better than others. Once you have worked out what styles and cuts of clothes do flatter your shape, use that as your guide for buying new outfits, not just what is hot on the runways this season.

3. Keep it under wraps: When it comes to showing skin, a little bit of mystery is far more enticing than baring it all. If you look at celebrity photos, you will see that most celebs choose to bare only one part of their body, so, if you like your shoulders, show them, but don’t wear your skirts too short as well. If you want to show off your shoulders, don’t show too much cleavage.

4. Keep An Open Mind When Shopping: How many times have you looked at an outfit in a shop and thought “that looks great, but it’s really not me”. Don’t knock it until you try it! At least get as far as the fitting room before you decide that an outfit’s not for you. If you don’t try out a few new things and experiment a little, you’ll be wearing the same style of clothes forever!

5. Don’t Let Your Coat Be What Lets You Down: Winter coats have to be practical, but that doesn’t mean that they have to be boring. When you are shopping for coats, think about style as well as whether it will be warm enough, or you could be just covering up a great outfit with something quite drab. When you are looking to add more style to your look, you need to think about every aspect of what you wear.
