The lawmakers, reacting to the alleged invasion, stated that there is a “… clandestine plot by the Buhari led All Progressives Congress (APC) Federal Government to destabilise the Ekiti State Government, using the Department of State Service (DSS).”

Speaker of the House, Rt Honourable Kolawole Oluwawole, in a statement said that: “More than 10 DSS men, armed to the teeth, invaded the Assembly Complex, shooting sporadically into the air, thereby causing panic among members and staff of the House of Assembly, who had to scamper to safety.

“At the end of the commotionhe end of the commotion, we discovered that four of our members could not be found. “ It was only this morning that we were able to establish that Hon Afolabi Akanni, representing Efon Constituency, was abducted and taken to Abuja.

According to Oluwawole, “The plot is to harass, intimidate and embarrass top officials of the Ayodele Fayose government because of the governor’s critical stance on the Buhari’s government.
“We are aware that 18 of our members have been pencilled down for harassment and the game plan is to harass them to submission, with a view to coercing them into signing an already prepared notice of impeachment of the governor and his deputy.”

Meanwhile, Fayose in a statement on Sunday by Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said he cannot be intimidated by APC led Federal Government “clandestine agenda of truncating democracy in Ekiti State and other PDP controlled States like Rivers and Bayelsa.”

They will only try, and like they have always done, they will fail because dictatorship has never triumphed over the people. Even Buhari’s dictatorship between 1984 and 1985 ended one day and Nigerians will also outlive his present dictatorship.”

It was really very easy to predict that someday, sometime the goons would come for Fayose directly or indirectly. Would be nice to see how the ‘pigs’ sort themselves out. Democracy, free speech and all the shit talk, time to take stock. Ain’t it?

It is actually unfortunate that Nigerian has descended into a state of dictatorship! this is not the change that was promised. we seem to have gone from bad to worse. I am waiting for APC and Buhari apologists to rationalize this in their usual manner. Only God will save our democracy
