2019: Against party's plan Fayose launches presidential campaign

Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, who was irritated with the failure of the Federal Government to release the January Budget Support Fund (BSF) to his state, has expressed gratitude following the payment of the money at last.

Fayose, who declared that Ekiti has been finally paid on Saturday, appreciated the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, for ensuring the issue was addressed.

He made the disclosure while speaking on a live programme tagged, ‘Meet Your Governor’ aired on the state-owned Ekiti Television and radio stations.

Though he did not give details of the efforts made to ensure Ekiti was finally paid, he however, promised the state workers he was going to pay their salaries as soon as the money got to the state account.

Fayose had last Tuesday alerted that the Federal Government after paying the state its BSF later withdrew it. He alleged that the action was targeted to set the workers against his government and shame him ahead of Ekiti State 2018 governorship election.

The next day, an angry Fayose had stormed the Ministry of Finance in Abuja to demand the reason his state was the only state among the 35 benefiting from the scheme yet to be paid for the month of January.

The Federal Government had in its reaction said Ekiti failed to meet the requirements and conditions for BSF.

However speaking on the issue on Saturday Fayose said, “What is important now is that the money has been released. I won’t want to go into details.

“On Thursday, a letter was sent to the Central Bank of Nigeria that the money be released and it has not been released because the CBN governor was not in town”, he explained.

For me, I would have loved to read the details of the efforts made to ensure Ekiti was finally paid. We the citizens of this country should not always be on the dark side.
Later in the year, this very case will erupt again, as it will be used against whoever sat on the Budget support of the state.

Foolish fayose, he thought it was his alarm that effect the payment or because they fulfilled the basic requirements. This is not pdp government where you don’t necessarily have to fulfil requirements before being paid, this government follows procedure.

    • Mr Septin911 – Lagos State, Nigeria – I'm not as complicated as you thing, equally not as easy as you've imagined. Huh? Yeah, Don't get it twisted.

I’d assume you were not matured to understand government when PDP was in power, under no condition did they released money without the fulfillment of all processes. You need to be careful how you speak ill of the party to support your wicked APC.

It’s over now. Fayose can now eat his share of January allocation because I know he was not raising alarm because he had the interest of his workers at heart but because of what he tends to steal from it.

I’m sorry, but you don’t know Fayose. He’s not a leader that ‘eats’ workers’ funds, he’d rather not have any share in order to satisfy his people. He’s always having his people before his interest.

It is amazine how money can humble people, Fayose was very rude before the federal government released his state’s allocation, now that he has received the funds, he’s humbly saying thank you. Fayose surprised me, I was expecting him to blame the federal government the more
