APC candidate, Kuye wins Somolu House of Reps poll in Lagos

The Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday announced candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Ademorin Kuye as winner of Saturday’s House of Representatives election in Somolu Federal Constituency.

The result was announced by the Returning Officer, Professor Ola Aluko of the Urban and Regional Planning Department, University of Lagos.

Aluko had after the election of February 23, announced on 25 February that there was no clear winner yet in the election.

Announcing the result at the INEC collation centre in Somolu on Sunday, Aluko said Kuye got a total vote of 28,722 to defeat his closest rival, Mr Oluwaseyi Olowu, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who gathered 25,202.

Kuye said the APC candidate having satisfied the requirements of law and scored the highest number of votes, “is the winner and he is returned elected.”
