Armed police inspector violates 15-year-old

A 15-year-old girl simply identified as Udo has recounted how an inspector attached to Mkpat Enin Police Division in the Mkpat Enin Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State allegedly raped her.

Udo said she was on her way from church when a group of policemen in a car accosted her and the police inspector got down from the vehicle and cocked his gun threatening to shoot her if she did not do his bidding.

The Senior Secondary School one pupil of Community Secondary School located at Iyadiong, Mkpat Enin, said the inspector led her into a nearby bush ordering her to undress pointing his gun at her.

The pupil also informed that the police inspector fondled her breasts, saying, “Small you, possess this type of breasts!”

Continuing, Udo said; “After he had forced me to remove my clothes, he ordered me to lie down and open my legs and raped me.

“As he was raping me, he warned me not to cry and threatened to shoot me if I opened my mouth.

“Blood was oozing from my private part, but the policemen dragged me into the vehicle and drove to the station, where he detained me from Thursday till Saturday.

“It was my uncle, Dr Ime Stephen, that came from Abuja and bailed me with N10,000.”

Reacting to the incident, Udo’s uncle, Dr Ime said he was could not believe when his niece pointed at the police inspector who is also a prosecutor as the one who forcefully raped her.

“We call for his dismissal from the force so that he can be prosecuted accordingly.” Dr Ime said.

Meanwhile, Murtala Mani, the state Police Commissioner, Mr. Murtala Mani, informed that all the policemen who were on patrol at the time of the crime have been detained.

“We have already started investigation into the matter. We have detained all the policemen involved.

“I interviewed the victims close to three hours yesterday (Monday). If the culprits are found wanting, they would be dismissed and prosecuted.”
