Blind activist gets job as Buhari’s SSA

Monday was a lucky day for a visually impaired activist, Dr. Samuel Inalegwu Ode Ankeli, as President Muhammadu Buhari appointed him as Senior Special Assistant, SSA.

Dr. Ankeli is saddled with the responsibility of dealing with persons living with disability. He was the head of the Directorate of Persons with Disability during the 2015 Presidential election campaign for Buhari/Osinbajo.

He was credited for successfully leading a team that mobilized more than 24 million disabled persons across the country in support of Buhari’s presidential campaign.

Dr. Ankeli, an indigene of Benue State, is a vetinary doctor who worked with Benue State government before resigning to work on the promotion of the well-being of the blind and people with all kinds of disability.
