BOKO HARAM: Army finds corpses of a Lt Col, 15 soldiers
Decaying corpses of a lieutenant colonel, K. Yusuf, and 15 soldiers, who were killed by the terrorist Boko Haram sect, were on Wednesday recovered by the Nigerian Army along Kamadogou River line area in Maiduguri.
This was disclosed by the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Lucky Irabor. He said the soldiers were found dead in River Yobe.
According to Irabor, “The corpses were recovered along Kamadogou River line area in Maiduguri. They have since been buried in Maimalari Cantonment Cemetery with full military honours.”
The sixteen personnel were said to be part of the 46 officially declared missing by the Army over six weeks ago.
Lieutenant Colonel Yusuf before his disappearance and subsequent death was the commander of Nigerian Army 223 Tank Battalion.

An internet news portal had on October 16 claimed that 83 Nigerian soldiers manning a Forward Operation Base in Gashigar, Borno State, went missing following a heavy onslaught by Boko Haram terrorist.
However, Nigerian Army in its reaction then said 46 personnel and not 83 were missing.
Meanwhile, Irabor also on Wednesday announced that the Army lost two of its soldiers in another Boko Haram attack close to the Nigerian border in the Republic of Chad.
All these are coming on the heels of the declaration of victory over Boko Haram sect by the Nigerian government.

There are forces in the military aiding Boko Haram, so these are the bad ones exposing the secret of our soldiers to the Boko Haram and making them vulnerable to them. So there is more to this.

How can their efforts be appreciated when the federal government is aiding and fueling the Boko Haram strength in secret. Everything they show us on TV that they condemn Boko Haram attacks is fake.

The truth is that Nigerian military can’t crush Boko Haram except we want to deceive ourselves. We need foreign aid in terms of military strength if we must defeat the Boko Haram

Even though we get the military support of other countries, it would end it. Other insurgent groups all over the world even with UN forces haven’t been combatted .

As bad as it sounds, there was nothing the military could have done to the decaying bodies. The soldiers went missing and were found dead, the military cannot be blamed for this. They are soldiers and anything can happen on the battle field.

In a war, there must be casualties. I don’t think it’s time to make our gallant soldiers feel bad about their job.
