BREAKING: Nigeria crosses the 10,000 mark with 307 new COVID-19 cases taking its total to 10162; death toll now 287

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday night confirmed 307 new COVID-19 cases in the country.

In its daily update on the COVID-19 situation in Nigeria released on its Twitter handle, the centre said the fresh infections had increased the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 10,162.

According to the NCDC, the new cases were recorded in 14 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

The COVID-19 death toll had also increased from 273 to 287 in the last 24 hours while 3,007 patients had been discharged by health workers from various treatment facilities in the country.

The breakdown of the figure on a state-by-state basis revealed the following: Lagos (188), FCT (44), Ogun (19), Kaduna (14), Oyo (12), Bayelsa (9), Gombe (5), Kano (3) and Delta (3).

Others are – Imo (2), Rivers (2), Niger (2), Bauchi (2), Plateau (1) and Kwara (1).

NCDC said: “10, 162 cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria.

“Discharged: 3,007 AND Deaths: 287.”
