A trigger happy policeman attached to Eziama Police Division has taken the life of a certain Ikeokwu Oyemachi, a father of two, for daring to resist when a police team tried seizing his motor bike.

The incident occurred at Ogbor Hill, Aba, Abia State.

Reports say the late Onyemachi, a Port Harcourt-based businessman, and his friend, Okike, who hails from Abala community in Obingwa council area, were on their way home after depositing the body of Pa Okike at a mortuary near Azuka Police Division when the killer policeman and his colleagues, who were in an ash-coloured Peugeot 504, attempted to seize their motorcycle.

Several efforts by the deceased and his friend at explaining to the Police team that they just deposited the corpse of Okike’s father at the mortuary fell on deaf ears as one of the policemen whose name could not be ascertained at press time, pulled out his gun and shot Onyemachi on the forehead.

The Police team fled the scene after the incident and Oyemechi who was rushed for medical attention was pronounced dead on
arrival at the Abia State Teaching Hospital, ABSUTH.

Following the incident, the State Commissioner of Police, Habila Joshak, has ordered the arrest of the killer policeman.
