Court turns down Suleman’s bid to detain Miss Otobo

The request by Apostle Johnson Suleman, founder of Omega Fire Ministry Worldwide to remand a certain Miss Stephanie Otobo who claims to have had an amorous affair with the Auchi-based pastor has been denied by a Lagos court.

Justice Kikelomo Bukola Ayeye, the chief magistrate of the Lagos State Magistrate Court in Tinubu, turned down the request by Apostle Suleman ruling that there is no substantial evidence to deny Miss Otobo her fundamental right to freedom, and hence granted her bail on liberal terms.

Ayeye granted Miss Otobo bail on conditions that the accused person deposits a sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum who must be gainfully employed.

Miss Otobo’s attorneys, Festus Keyamo Chambers, in a petition earlier sent to the Inspector-General of Police alleged that Apostle Suleman promised to marry her, as soon as he divorced his wife, but instead dumped her to her own fate in Canada.

Miss Otobo who is now claiming N500 million in damages for breach of trust after Apostle Suleman failed to marry her, also claimed that when she got pregnant and informed the Pastor, he got angry and wanted her to abort the baby as he alleged it will tarnish his image.

However, Miss Otobo’s father, Rev. Benson Otobo has denied the claims put forward by his daughter against Apostle Suleman saying his daughter is not a decent girl as he wondered why she would want tarnish the image of the man of God.

Rev. Otobo also denied hosting Apostle Suleman as a potential son-in-law who had come to seek the hand of his daughter in marriage.

“Not at all; Apostle Suleiman does not even know where I live.”

He added that he left his marriage with his daughter’s mother 30-years ago due to her unfaithfulness and is disheartened at the things his daughter is saying about Apostle Suleman.

“I was shocked to hear this thing just. I’m not part of it at all. Even that my daughter, as I speak, we are at loggerhead because two months ago, I saw her picture on the internet, through her whatsapp. I had a shout with her on the way she dressed and I saw her with tattoo and all that, I now advised her that ‘look, why are you dressing like this, you need to dress decently even on whatsapp, she flayed at me, giving me names, calling me names, telling me I’m not serving God and different kinds of things I cannot even reveal to you now. ”

“She insulted me and told me that from that day on, I was not her father anymore and that I should just forget about her for life.

“If a daughter is telling her father that, I don’t know why I would be involved in anything that concerns her. I’m not aware of all these things that she’s talking about. Not at all.” Rev. Otobo added.
