The anti-corruption crusade of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration claimed another victim Wednesday night, as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, arrested a former military governor of Kaduna State and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Jafaru Isa.

Isa, a former governor and governorship candidate of the defunct CPC in Kano State, is a close friend of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki and a close political associate of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He was arrested at his Ajayi Crowther Street, Asokoro, Abuja residence.

According to reports, operatives of the anti-graft commission invaded his residence around 9pm, whisking him away a few minutes later.

Sources at the EFCC confirmed that Jafaru, a retired brigadier general, had been invited last week by the commission to appear on Wednesday to clear himself on “some questionable receipts” from Sambo but turned down the invitation on the excuse that a relative died.

According to sources, it is believed that Jafaru received over N100million from Dasuki.

Issa Jafaru is the first known associate of President Muhammadu Buhari and member of APC to be investigated or arrested in the ongoing anti-corruption crusade of the current administration.
