Drama as Jigawa dep gov defects to APC
A mild drama played out in Jigawa state as the state’s deputy governor, Alhaji Ahmad Mahmud, announced that he had dumped the PDP for the APC which won the National Assembly election in the state, on March 28.
But the state PDP in a quick reaction stated that he had been expelled from the party for alleged anti-party activities.
PDP chairman of Galagamma ward in Gumel, Jigawa, Alhaji Ibrahim Kafinta, in a statement said the decision to expel Mahmud was taken during a stakeholders meeting held in his ward.
Kafinta did not say when the stakeholders meeting, which ratified the expulsion, held.
The ward chairman alleged that the deputy governor “sabotaged PDP” during the recent National Assembly election.
He added that the Gumel Local Government Area headquarters of the party, had endorsed the expulsion.
