DSS grills Ifeanyi Ubah over alleged NNPC missing fuel

Billionaire businessman and owner of Capital Oil and Gas Plc, was on Thursday grilled by operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS).

Ripples Nigeria can confirm that the meeting between the security operatives and Ubah, who is a governorship hopeful in Anambra state, is not unconnected to allegations brought against him by the NNPC.

The national oil company had some time ago alleged that Capital Oil, and MRS Limited had sold its products kept in their care without the corporation’s consent, or knowledge.

NNPC Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Mr. Ndu Ughamadu, who made this known, said the product was stored in the facilities of the two indigenous downstream operators, under a throughput arrangement as part of efforts to ensure a robust strategic reserve.

He had hinted then, that the corporation, bent on full recovery of the funds had approached the security agencies, including the DSS on the matter.

He lamented however, that Capital Oil and Gas has been unable to return 82 million litres of petrol, valued at N11 billion, out of over 100 million litres which it took.

When contacted, Ubah said that he was at the DSS office, where he had gone to honour an invitation extended to him by the agency, and that the matter will be resolved amicably.
