The candidacy of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the September 28 governorship election in Edo State, has received a major boost, as a socio-cultural group, Nedoghama Nedo, has endorsed him.

‎The group, made up of chiefs from the palace of the Oba of Benin, traditional priests, business owners and professionals, endorsed Ize-Iyamu after a meeting in Benin, the state capital.

The decision of the group was disclosed by the Eson of Benin Kingdom, Chief Amos Osunbor, explaining that after assessing Ize-Iyamu and his counterpart in the All Progressives Congress, APC, Godwin Obaseki, members of the group were convinced that the PDP candidate is the one with the capacity to take the state to where residents of the state desire.

Osunbor said: “We have painstakingly assessed the two candidates (Obaseki and Ize-Iyamu) and we have found that Ize-Iyamu is the man for the job.”
