EPL: Chelsea stunned by Palace; Spurs, Liverpool, Leicester win

English Premier League leaders Chelsea lost 1-2 to Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and saw their lead at the top drop to seven points as second-placed Tottenham beat Burnley.

The Blues had won their past 10 league games at home but saw the run ended by a battling Palace.

The home side struck first when Cesc Fabregas turned home Eden Hazard’s cross after five minutes, but they were quickly behind as Wilfried fired home from the edge of the box and, 91 seconds later, set up Christian Benteke to put Palace ahead with a good effort.

Tottenham Hotspur cut the gap on Chelsea as they overcame a stubborn Burnley to win 2-0 at Turf Moor.

Reigning champions Leicester City won their fourth consecutive League victory and edged further from the relegation zone with a convincing 2-0 win over Stoke City at the King Power Stadium.

Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi put the home side ahead with a superb strike from 25 yards out just 25 minutes into the game, when he curled the ball past Stoke goalkeeper Lee Grant and into the top corner, before Jamie Vardy made it two in the 47th minute.

Liverpool enhanced their prospects of a top-four place after beating rivals Everton, whose own hopes of breaking into the battle for a Champions League qualification spot were severely damaged by the 3-1 defeat.

In the other Premier League ties on saturday, Hull City claimed a priceless 2 1 win against West Ham at the KCOM Stadium, Watford earned a 1-0 win over struggling Sunderland, Southampton were held to a goalless draw by
Bournemouth, whil3 Manchester United suffered a stalemate also against West Brom at Old Trafford.
