The Nigeria Football Federation has concluded arrangement to draft the National Technical Director, Amodu Shuaibu, to play a key role in the crucial African Nations Cup qualifiers between the Super Eagles and  Pharaohs of Egypt billed for the 25th and 29th of March in Kaduna and Alexandria respectively.

The NFF  feels the two-legged encounters is a project bigger than the Head Coach of the team, Sunday Oliseh, hence the need to involve  the experienced Amodu  in other to offer some tips and suggestions.

Amodu has led Nigerian club sides, BCC Lions of Gboko and Shooing Stars of Ibadan to victories over clubs from the North African country in the past and it is believed that his past experience would be useful  this time around.

“This project is like an elephant meat that only one person cannot carry; it is a Nigerian project that needs everybody’s attention.  Oliseh needs Nigerians’ support to succeed,” the source said.

“Nobody is going to touch his list, no member of the technical committee is going to touch his list but he will be expected to defend the invitations of all the players for the match before the Technical Committee.

“He is going to work with the technical director we have on ground as well as National Technical Study Group and discuss his plans for the ties,” he said.

Amodu who was officially employed as the Technical Director last year April and has not really been in touch with the national team since the engagement of Oliseh.
