Fayose vows to dump PDP if Supreme Court upholds Sheriff as PDP chair
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum chairman and Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Peter Fayose, has hinted that he is going to dump the party should the Supreme Court affirm Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the authentic national chairman of the PDP.
Already, Sheriff has been sanctioned PDP chairman by the Court of Appeal, a judgement that Ahmed Makarfi led National Caretaker Committee faction of the party is contesting at the apex court.
But Fayose was said to have on Tuesday told newsmen who confronted him with the question on why he had removed the name and logo of the PDP from his campaign office and mini signposts mounted on Ado and Ikere-Ekiti roads, that his continuation as the PDP member will be based on the outcome of the case at the Supreme Court.

Fayose however said he remained a bona fide member of the PDP pending the outcome of the court ruling.
Fayose has been unequivocal in his opposition to Sheriff being the chairman of the party and has continually alleged that the former Borno State governor is being used by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to destroy PDP and turn Nigeria into a one party state.
Meanwhile, the governor has declared May 19 work free day in Ekiti State to honour late former Governor of the Southwest region, Gen. Adeyinka Adebayo.
