FG confident about 2016 budget
The Federal Government has expressed confidence over the workability of the 2016 budget, saying it is realisable despite falling oil price in the international market.
This was stated by the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo- Udoma while receiving a delegation from the African Development Bank (ADB) that visited the ministry.
According to Udo-Udoma, the 2016 budget is achievable, adding that there are ongoing reforms targeted at diversifying the nation’s revenue base away from single oil commodity economy.
“Our Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, is assiduously applying innovative financing in the oil sector to address any likely revenue gap from our projected oil revenue.
“Plugging leakages through zero tolerance to corruption, application of sound public financial management and improved revenue collection system are reforms targeted to achieve the budget”, the minister said.
