72 Nigerians awaiting evacuation from China test positive for COVID-19

An alarm has been raised by a human rights group with claims, that over 300 Nigerian businessmen and women who are stranded in the Chinese business capital, Guangzhou, are facing starvation.

The Civil Liberties Organisation which raised the alarm complained that the stranded Nigerians no longer have enough money to pay for their hotel accommodation and feeding in the city, thus pleading for immediate repatriation.

Ibuchukwu Ezike, the Executive Director of the CLO, in a statement on Tuesday, said that his office has received calls from stranded Nigerians in Guangzhou who are among the over 2,000 individuals awaiting evacuation from foreign countries.
