Hours after youths’ protest, Ondo gov reshuffles cabinet, sacks three commissioners

ONDO HOUSE OF SNAKES: Gov Akeredolu accuses lawmakers of mismanaging funds

Ondo state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has sacked three commissioners and subsequently nominated five other people as commissioners designates.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor Mr Olusegun Ajiboye, named the nominated commissioner desgninates as Mrs Yetunde Adeyanju, Mrs Titilayo Adeyemi, Mr Temitayo Oluwatuyi, Mr Fatai Olotu and Mr Akindotun.

According to the statement, the names of the nominees would be sent to the state House of Assembly for confirmation.

The statement also added that the governor also appointed two other people, Tunde Kolawole and Mr Oyebo Aladetan, as Special Advisers.

“The governor made the announcement at the end of the State Executive Council meeting held on Monday.

“Akeredolu thanked the three commissioners for their service to the people of Ondo State and wished them well in their future endeavours.

“They were directed to hand over all government’s property in their possession to the Permanent Secretaries of their respective ministries,” the statement said.

The governor, however, pledged that the people would continue to be at the centre of the policies of his administration while he continued to deliver the dividends of good governance to the people of the state.

The move is coming barely 24 hours after some youths on Monday morning blocked the entrance to the Ondo State governor’s office in a bid to register their protest.

The youths who were from Ilaje Local Government Area of the state alleged that the governor has been diverting the funds meant to develop their area.

The youths mounted a human barricade at two gates of the governor’s office at Alagbaka GRA of the state capital.
They prevented workers of the governor’s office from gaining access into the complex.
