Ighalo is top scorer in England

In from Nifemi Daniel …
Odion Ighalo has expressed his delight after scoring on his English Premier League debut for Watford in their 2-2 draw against Everton on Saturday at Goodison Park.
“I thank God for the goal and I am very happy to score on my first (Premier League) game.
“I dedicate it to God because I have vowed to always give him the glory. And by God grace is one of the many goals to come,” he added.
According to Opta Stats, his second-half strike at Goodison Park makes him the outright top scorer in England’s top four divisions in 2015.
Ighalo, who scored 20 goals last season in the English Championship to help Watford gain promotion to the English top flight, replaced Jose Manuel Jurado in the 74th minute of the game and made his impact felt nine minutes later after making a mess of the Toffees defence to put Watford 2-1 up.
The Nigeria international shimmied inside to leave Phil Jagielka and Chelsea target John Stones in his wake before finishing calmly.

However, Cote d’Ivoire forward Aruna Kone equalised for the home team three minutes later off Romelo Lukaku’s pass.
Meanwhile, with his goal against Everton, Ighalo became the outright leading scorer in England’s top four divisions in 2015 with 17 goals.
Ighalo was relatively unheard of 12 months ago, initially joining the Hornets on loan from Udinese as part of the Pozzo family’s attempts to lead a promotion charge.
However, after finally breaking his Watford duck in the 2-1 win over Brentford last September, the goals started to flow, with 16 of his 20 Championship goals coming after the turn of the year.
