Impeachment: Fayose’s supporters seize State Assembly
Disturbed by the impeachment plot against the Ekiti state governor, supporters of Ayodele Fayose, led by his deputy, Kolapo Olusola stormed the state assembly complex, to protest any planned sitting.
They blocked all major roads leading to the House, turning the premises of the assembly into a fun centre, as they brought tables, generators, food and loud music.
A number of aides to the governor, including a former speaker of the House, Tunji Odeyemi were among the protesting merrymakers, as they however kept their distance from security agents who had cordoned off the Assembly.
They, however, vowed to keep a vigil on the assembly, asking the APC lawmakers to impeach Fayose in their presence.
Meanwhile, Fayose, said, “Nobody served me any impeachment notice. I only saw the notice online like every other person”.
While speaking during a TV programme, “Meet Your Governor”, aired on the State Television, the governor, who described himself as an Israeli said; “I’m like Israel that is in the midst of enemies but will always prevail. Whoever wants to remove me will first have to impeach God.”

The way we run politics in Nigeria is too volatile. A deputy governor using touts to barricade an assembly entrance.
