Kaduna pilgrim dies on way to airport

A woman pilgrim from Kaduna stated has died on her way to board a flight to Saudi Arabia for this year Hajj.

The woman, who whose name was given simply as Zainab, was said to have slumped and died in a bus conveying intending pilgrims to the Kaduna airport to board a flight.

The Amirul Hajj of Kaduna State and Emir of Birnin Gwari, Alhaji Zubairu Jibril, said Zainab was diagnosed of as having asthma but that she did not as a result of the ailment.

The deceased, who was from Kagarko Local Government Area of the state, had been buried according to Islamic rite.

While condoling with the family of the deceased, Alhaji Jibril, said that Zainab had actually performed the Hajj as she had the intention of going to the Holy Land.

Kaduna State has so far airlifted 4,439 in 14 flights.
