Kemi Adeosun – Reno got it wrong

Published

on

By Joseph Edgar… What has academic qualification got to do with performance? In my books, absolutely nothing. Reno Omokri is being totally mischievous with his latest diatribe that we are in a recession because Kemi Adeosun, the Finance Minister, attended a Polytechnic and that we are facing famine because the Agriculture Minister read french. If this is not him really trying to embarrass himself, I do not know what next.

His principal, Jonathan that he has been praising up and down read Zoology yet to Reno, Jonathan remains the best thing since slice bread. He should just go and sit down if he has run out of things to say. I respect his clear use of fact based positions. I once wrote in support of his positions as against the emotional diatribe that the government’s spokespeople usually throw out there.

This time around he has missed the mark by a mile. Qualifications have nothing to do with performance. We have millions of people who are excelling in their chosen fields without requisite academic qualifications. This is especially so with people who read the social sciences but are in professions. I have seen chemical engineers rising to become Bank Managing Directors. So Reno, quit this mischief.

Kemi Adeosun herself has not really helped matters with the way she is handling the economy of the country. The indices are appalling hence this below the belt attack. She too has not shown a strong grasp of the issues that bedevil us and it is looking like she may have bitten more than she can chew. Her dour and muted attempt at refocusing the economy is exposing her and making it look like a Lilliputian has arrived at the Finance Ministry. This is more graphic if you take into consideration the gargantuan academic credentials being paraded by her immediate predecessor Okonjo Iweala.

Honestly, I think Kemi should take this as a wakeup call to either up her game or voluntarily throw in the towel. The stats are horrendous. Just yesterday I went to buy a carton of Indomie for N2,000. It used sell for just N1,000.  It’s really sad.

We are in Golgotha. Let me just say this much for now.

Adeosun sincerely is not experienced enough to man the finance ministry. State finance is different from federal finance.

It’s not all about experience sometimes, it’s all about capability , readiness , seeking counsel and commitment . Adeosun fails to learn from previous finance ministers and also fails to understand what finance is all about because of ego.

Don’t forget adeosun is just being fellow because of the money in it because i know he knows nothing about economic recession

  2. Mr Septin911 – Lagos State, Nigeria – I'm not as complicated as you thing, equally not as easy as you've imagined. Huh? Yeah, Don't get it twisted.

This is recession, the situation is different, due to this, there’s no best man for Adeosun’s position, if not Adeosun, the best person (which I am yet to see) will also be challenged. How many experts have tackled recession? It takes people who have handled economic recession to know how best to tackle it.

This is obviously Adeosun’s first experience about recession, I believe it is okay for her to keep guessing until she gets to the right path to take Nigeria out of the deadly economic recession.

Then we need to go bring great American minister of finance during Obama’s first tenure or Germany’s minister of finance in 2010 or possibly Britain minister.

It’s not about people who have handled economic recession before but people who understand how to diversity the economy in place of crude oil.

The devil that caused this recession in Nigeria is nothing than crude oil.
      Take it or leave it.

Buhari should place Charles Soludo the ex CBN Governor as the minister of finance and things will get better . the man is experienced enough. He saves the banking sector during his time.

Which katikati b this? This one na jagbajantis . which Charles soludo is buhari bringing. Though I trust buhari he won’t bring the failed CBN Governor. Adeosun should forge ahead for now. Even Greater Britain is in recession .

What makes you think Charles will do better than adeosun. Charles has failed once so let adeosun keep being the CBN governor than charles the failure
