Lagos govt responds to rise in COVID-19 cases, bans gatherings of over 20

The Lagos State Government on Saturday banned all religious and social gathering of over 20 people.

The state government announced this on its Facebook page after 10 fresh cases of coronavirus were confirmed by the Federal Government earlier on Saturday.

Three of the new cases were in the Federal Capital Territory and seven in Lagos.

The fresh development brings to 22 the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country.

The state government had earlier imposed restrictions on gatherings of over 50.

It urged residents in the state to comply with the new directive.
