Maje fights back, to sue Toke over her book “On Becoming..”, says its fabricated

Celebrity fitness instructor Maje Ayida is set to get dirty with his ex-wife Toke Makinwa as he is preparing to drag her to court over her published book titled “On Becoming..” which he says was largely fabricated.

Reports say the fitness guru has employed the services of a British law firm to sue Toke over the published book which revealed the alleged details of their failed marriage.

The lawyers engaged by Maje according to reports manages legal issues for famous people/groups including Simon Cowell, Elton John and Chelsea FC, while his Nigerian lawyer Kemi Pinheiro (SAN) is also in the team.

A ‘Letter of Demand’ has reportedly been sent to Toke with notations including a revelation that in 2014, she signed an agreement after Ayida “requested legal separation” from her ‘within 6 months’ of their marriage in January 2014 — when it became clear that the marriage was breaking down”.

The letter said that Ayida’s public image was ridiculed, ‘assaulted, injured and damaged’ by Makinwa who sought ‘relentless and limitless’ publicity with the launch of her book.

“His professional integrity as one of the leading health and wellness practitioners in Nigeria, and his professional credibility built over the years through dedicated hard work have been besmirched”, the letter said.

Importantly, the letter demanded that Toke Makinwa must retrieve all copies of the books sold, delete the e-distribution of the book, and upon agreement with Ayida, must schedule a place where all copies of the retrieved books must be destroyed. Then, she must “retract” the “published words” and write a full page apology to Maje Ayida on three national dailies. Failure of which “will result in the commencement of legal action.”

One of the bizarre details revealed during the reading of the book launch was in Chapter 8 of the piece entitled ‘Hurt’ when Toke wrote that she discovered that Maje had infected her with STI, broke her heart, cheated on her many times, got his baby mama pregnant while married to her, caused her to bleach her skin, and almost drove her to commit suicide by drinking Dettol.
