A 26-year-old suspect identified as Monday Daniel is now cooling his heels in police net after setting his family house located in Budo Alaka village in Kisi area of Oyo State on fire.

Five members of his family who were asleep in the house perished in the inferno.

Recounting the circumstances that led to Daniel’s action, an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity said the suspect had on the previous day approached a member of the family for some money to travel to an undisclosed destination but his request was turned down.

That his request was snubbed, according to the witness, prompted Daniel to take the law into his own hands as he came back in anger and allegedly set the house on fire in the early hours of Sunday.
