Melaye returns to Senate, defeats Smart Adeyemi in Kogi West
Senator Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) representing Kogi West Senatorial district has secured a return to the National Assembly having defeated his closest rival, Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress ( APC ) in Saturday’s National Assembly election.
Melaye got a total of 85,395 votes to defeat Adeyemi who scored 66,902 votes.
The senator won in 6 out of the 7 local government areas in the senatorial district.
