PDP accuses Okorocha of selling off 71 government vehicles as scraps

Three days after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) sealed several properties belonging to former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, a warehouse where his family members allegedly kept looted assets has been discovered.

The discovery was made on Friday by the Jasper Ndubuaku-led Committee on the Recovery of Moveable Assets belonging to the State Government.

Governor Emeka Ihedioha, had recently commissioned the committee with the mandate to recover states assets stolen by past governments in the state, especially the immediate past administration of Okorocha.

According to reports from Imo, through a hint from whistle blowers, the committee discovered the massive warehouse on Friday afternoon along Aba Road.

The property was said to belong to Nkechi Okorocha, wife of the former governor, who now represents Imo West at the Senate.

It was learnt that for the passionate plea of a team of the committee members, who discovered the warehouse, youths in the area would have set the property ablaze.

EFCC had said that it sealed off Okorocha and family’s properties as part of its investigation into corruption activities the governor, his family and cronies, were allegedly involved in while Okorocha reigned as Imo State Governor between 2011 to 2019.
