Moses wins first Premier League title with Chelsea

Chelsea FC have won the English Premier League after a late goal by substitute Michy Batshuayi sealed their needed victory against West Brom on Friday night.

Super Eagles forward Victor Moses was in action for the visitors and went close on several occasions to give Chelsea the lead before going off for Kurt Zouma late in the game.

The game was Moses’ 33rd league appearances for Chelsea this season, scoring three goals, and winning his first Premier League title.

The Blues, who finished 10th last season, are currently on 87 points – 10 points clear off second-placed Tottenham Hotspur – with only two matches left.

Chelsea Boss Antonio Conte wins the Premier League title in his first season at the club, while midfielder, N’Golo Kante, who moved from Leicester City this season, becomes the first player to win the title back-to-back with two Premier League clubs.

The Italian coach made several changes to the team he inherited from Jose Mourinho, and his tactics paid off.

Most impressively of all, however, has to be the transformation of Victor Moses. The Nigerian came back to Chelsea after three forgettable years away on loan, his career surely in tatters.

Seeing something that no one had ever considered before, Conte moved him to wing-back and one of the finest players in the league has flourished.

“This is a great achievement for the players. I thank them for their commitment and work rate. They show me a great attitude to try to do something great this season. After this win we must be happy, we must be pleased,” the Italian said Friday after winning the title.

Conte will now set his sights on emulating compatriot Carlo Ancelotti’s 2010 feat of winning the league and domestic Double as the Blues prepare for an FA Cup final against Arsenal at Wembley on 27 May.
