Osinbajo attends ECOWAS summit convened to address Guinea Bissau’s crisis
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will leave Abuja for Niamey, Niger Republic, later on Friday for the extraordinary summit of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) convened to address the current political upheaval in Guinea Bissau.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media, Laolu Akande, disclosed this in a tweet on his verified Twitter handle.
Akande said the vice president would return later in the day.

He wrote: “VP Osinbajo to represent President Buhari today in Niger where an Extraordinary ECOWAS summit is holding to review the ongoing situation in Guinea Bissau.
“He will depart Abuja this morning and return later today.”
Guinea Bissau President, President José Mario Vaz, had on October 28 dismissed the government and appointed a new prime minister, thus setting the stage for a protracted political crisis in the Portuguese speaking West African nation.
