Police Inspector In trouble for giving out info

Adesida Ademola, a 38-year-old police Inspector was paraded before the Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly giving information to unauthorised persons.

While addressing the court, Sgt. Samson Osobu, the prosecutor said Ademola, the defendant, committed the alleged offence in Ado-Ekiti on July 12.

According to the prosecutor, the defendant who pleaded not guilty to the charge did publish and communicate the information with unauthorised persons by virtue of his position as a serving police inspector.

Sgt. Osobu added that the offence committed by the defendant contravened Section 97 (1) of the Official Secret Law Cap 03 and Section 125 (A) of the Criminal Code Cap C16 Laws of Ekiti State 2012.

After opposing the application by the counsel to the defendant, Mr Oluwadare Oyedele to give his client bail, Chief Magistrate, Mr Adesoji Adegboye, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum and also adjourned the case till August 3 for further hearing.
