Police nab 2 notorious kidnappers in Edo

Two notorious kidnappers identified as Best Iyoha, 34 and 27-year-old Junior Ekete who are said to be wanted by the police have been nabbed by operatives of the anti-kidnapping squad of the Edo State Police Command.

The suspects were arrested after they reportedly kidnapped their victim identified as Mr Okpogie Osaigbovo, 40, at his construction site situated around Country Home Motel Road in the capital of Edo State.

Upon his abduction, the kidnappers who kept Mr Osaigbovo in a toilet at House 5, Hope Close, Off Country Home Motel Road, Benin City for two nights, demanded a N200m ransom from the victim’s family but only the sum of N8m was raised before he was freed.

Reports say immediately after Mr Osaigbovo was released by his captors, the police trailed the suspects to their hideout where items such as two Samsung mobile phones, a Toyota Camry car, two cut-to-size guns, two laptops and four live cartridges were recovered.

According to the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Haliru Gwandu, the suspects who revealed that they were recently deported from Libya and were trying to raise more money to travel overseas before luck ran out against them will soon be charged to court.

The CP also noted that the police force is battle ready to fight criminal actvities in Edo State.

    Recently , Nigerian police are trying . always arresting notorious armed robbers or kidnappers and so on. Kudos to them.

    Edo police are the most corrupt police in Nigeria. They do abet most of the crimes in Edo. I hail Benin people especially the Edos.
