Quit notice: Igbo ‘shut down’ Plateau
Plateau State was yesterday ‘shut down’, as virtually all shops and business outfits owned by Igbo businessmen and women were closed for business.
Investigations by The Guardian showed that the Igbo residents were just being careful so that the October 1 quit notice does not take them by surprise.
Although the Arewa Northern Youths who issued the quit notice had since recanted, Igbo respondents confided in The Guardian that they held a meeting during which it was resolved that they should all stay at home, in case the Arewa Youths renege on their promise to unleash mayhem.
However, because Governor Simon Bako Lalong lost his younger brother, Mr. Wumen Bako, no statement of assurances came from government, but natives, including Hausa and other non-Igbo residents were seen going about their normal social and business activities.

No Victor no vanquish is the tag of 1967 civil war. Thanks Mr Gen. Gowon for keeping the country as one. History won’t forget you

The Arewa youths canceled the ultimatum long ago, but as human beings, it’s right to be careful. The Igbos had to do what they did so as not to record larger loss

Everything boils down to fear of the unknown. You never can tell, the Hausas may be planning evil that’ll catch them unaware, but now that they’ve seen peace, they are rest assured that the Arewa Youths are up to no evil

Today being first would have been war in the North, thanks to the key players who returned the Arewa Youths back to their right senses.

The Arewa youths would have caused more trouble if they hadn’t canceled their nonsense deadline
