Rejected by APC, Aisha Al-Hassan moves APC state structure to UDP

The immediate past Minister for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Aisha Al-Hassan may be on her way to teach the All Progressives Congress (APC) a bitter lesson, just hours after her resignation as a minister.

Mama Taraba, as she is fondly called, who also resigned her membership of the APC, has joined the United Democratic Party (UDP).

She however did not join her new party alone, she did with the entire state structure of the APC.

The former minister, who was stopped by her former party from contesting the Taraba State governorship election on the platform of the APC, revealed that she has joined UDP on her Twitter handle, @SenAishaAlhassan barely six hours after her resignation from APC and President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.

According to her tweet, she has joined UDP with the 169 wards executives, 16 LGAs executives, state executives of the APC and seven state assembly members.

She tweeted: “I have officially JOINED my next POLITICAL PARTY with 7 state Assembly Members, all @APCNigeria executives from 169 wards of Taraba State.

“All 16 local Government exco’s of APC

“All states executives of APC, we are now in UDP”

It would be recalled that the National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole had said Al-Hassan was stopped from contesting on the platform of the party because her loyalty to the party was in doubt.
