Reps ‘quarrel’ while awaiting Buhari Budget presentation

Members of the House of Representatives on Wednesday exchanged words and almost fought each other before the presentation of the budget by President Muhammadu Buhari.

It took the presence of President Buhari to halt the drama that could have extended beyond the ordinary at the lower chamber of the National Assembly on Wednesday.

Several lawmakers were chorusing protest songs, singing Freedom comes by struggle, by struggle; freedom come,’ while Mr Bashir Babale and Duoye Diri, engaged in physical combat.

It was reported that some lawmakers brought out placards and others tore them.

However, calmness returned once the president stepped into the chamber while he was hailed with shouts of ‘Sai Baba!’
