#ResumeOrResign Protest: Wuse Market, Abuja, shut down over tribal clash

The popular Wuse Market located in Abuja has been shut down by authorities over a tribal clash between traders and protesters urging President Muhammadu Buhari to return to Nigeria or resign.

Reports say it became a free for all when members of the #ResumeOrResign movement led by Charly Boy, were attacked at the market by supporters of ailing president Buhari.

Officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, and anti-riot policemen reportedly had a torrid time trying to curtail the clashes which later resulted in the breakout of an inter-tribal clash in the market.

Eyewitnesses say hoodlums took advantage of the opportunity and began to throw stones “at the Igbo people around the area” causing chaos and forced the police to shut down the market to forestall mayhem.
