Rwandan forces kill 19 terrorists behind tourist hub attack

An offensive launched by security forces in Rwanda has killed at least 19 terrorists blamed for an attack that resulted in the death of eight people at the Musanze district’s Kinigi sector, the East African nation’s tourist hub.

Another 18 people were seriously wounded in the Friday attack.
Musanze is a district in the Northern Province of Rwanda. Its capital city is Ruhengeri, which is also sometimes known as Musanze.

Police said the retaliatory attack on the terrorists took place on Sunday near the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

“Those criminals killed eight people, including six who were killed using traditional weapons and two who were shot dead,” John Bosco Kabera, police spokesman, said in a statement on Saturday.
